Who we Are

Mike Schneider, a native of Southern Illinois, began his architectural career in Chicago. After several years at prominent firms, he asked two colleagues to join him in founding Quadrant Partners.  Seven years of driving over 300 miles to successful southern Illinois projects, led Mike to return to Monroe County and create a fully staffed Waterloo office in 2001. In order to better serve our community, Quadrant Design, Inc. became an independent company in 2002 and a second office was established in Sparta, Illinois, in 2012.

Our diverse practice includes projects of new construction, historic preservation, adaptive re-use renovations, and community planning. Through working with user groups in a broad group of facilities, we believe that each project can educate and enrich our outlook toward other commissions. Our designs do not conform to predetermined styles, approaches, or formulae; each project is a unique combination of the client’s vision, our experience, the physical site, and a realistic budget.
